According to their understanding about the pandemic. They said that covid-19 is a disease caused by a new strain of corona virus. “CO” stands for corona, VI for virus and D for disease. President Obiero also briefed us that formerly this disease was referred to as 2019 novel corona virus.

From reports and news in the country and other countries across the world, the virus has caused many deaths of youths mostly students. The duos have therefore called upon all students of Cooperative University of Kenya and other Universities to join hands in helping the government in fighting this worlds pandemic. They’ve also also asked the students to adhere to the governments directives and precaution measures against the virus.

In his speech at his enclosed quarantine place, Obiero has urged students to wash their hands frequently with soap for at least 20 seconds. They should not touch their faces.

The virus is real and we’ve seen how Italy and other countries abroad are suffering. To curb this, I urge all youths in the country especially students to stay safe at home. They should wash their hands frequently, avoid crowded places, observe the curfew, use recommended masks, avoid public gatherings and always listen to the government.

Obiero’s Message to students.

On the other hand, D.P Mumbi has urged students not to stigmatize their peers or tease anyone about being sick. She has also reminded students that the virus doesn’t follow geographical boundaries, ethnicities, age, ability or gender. Therefore, everyone is at risk and should take the precautions seriously.
