Technical University of Mombasa is among the places in coast a region where quarantine facilities have been located. An estimated number of 20 citizens who arrived in the country 2 weeks ago via Moi International Airport in Miritini,Mombasa were forced to quarantine for 14 days at Technical University of Mombasa as per the directive of the President on Curbing or Coronavirus.
According to Mombasa County Government Watch Facebook page, the 20 have been tested negative after 14 days of quarantine. Funny enough, organizations and health workers were to waive a relief to Kenyans after the outbreak of Covid-19 and the directive if working from home but, the 20 have been asked to pay Ksh.35,000/= each for quarantining at the campus before they are discharged. This has raised many questions and concern by Kenyans if the quarantine places are being used for business or they are being used to curb further spread on Covid-19 in the country.
